Chapter One :Chapter 1

Xu Wanwan was woken up by a wave of crying sounds, and she groggily opened her eyes only to see two children weeping fervently in the corner together.

"What's the crying about?" She inquired subconsciously, her voice a tad raspy.

The two children resembled frightened rabbits. Their sobbing which paused momentarily before it resumed again.

"Xu Wanwan, did you hit the children again? If you touch them again, you're going back to the village! This is my final warning."

A deep voice, suppressing anger, echoed. Xu Wanwan looked over to see a tall figure striding in from outside.

Xu Wanwan felt as if she were dreaming. She rubbed her eyes in an attempt to shake off the dream, but it made everything seem truer than ever.

The man was tall and upright, with fair and chiseled features, his expression extremely cold, radiating a chilling sense of righteousness. His military cap was placed on his head, and a glimpse of impatience could be seen in his deep black eyes under the brim.

The two skinny children who resembled bean sprouts immediately rushed over, grabbed the man's legs and stood firm. Their little dirty faces were still covered with tear stains and large snot bubbles, and their wet eyes intermittently glared at Xu Wanwan, "Daddy."

Xu Wanwan was a bit slow to react. No! Who was this man, and who were these children? What did he mean by hitting the children?

Hadn't she just finished attending a business cocktail party and sat in the car ready to go home? How could she be here?

She glanced inadvertently at the calendar hanging on the wall, Xu Wanwan was dumbfounded, May 5, 1981.

Suddenly, a strange feeling overwhelmed her, and memories that did not belong to her darted into Xu Wanwan's brain like a current.

A moment later, Xu Wanwan realized that she had transmigrated into the body of a military wife who shared her name and surname.

The original owner was twenty-four this year, already a mother of two children. She moved to the military dependents compound a year ago, and because of her aggressive personality, she was fat, ugly, slovenly, and loved to take advantage of others, she quickly became detested by everyone in the compound.

Since no one in the compound paid attention to her, she often started fights for no reason, causing her three-year-old twins to wail in distress. She would indirectly insult the other military wives for their snobbishness, claiming that they disliked her because she came from the countryside.

Her man, who was emanating an aura of chilling cold, was a battalion commander named Pei Yan. Busy with military duties during the day, he had to go door to door to apologize on behalf of the original host in the grand courtyard after returning at night. One could say he led a life of serious hardship.

Today was no exception. Pei Yan had taken their two children to dine at the deputy battalion commander Wang's house, who was both his brother and subordinate. When the original host found out, she flew into a rage. She dared not vent her anger on Pei Yan, but instead took it out on the children.

"Did you hear?"

When Pei Yan didn't get a response from Xu Wanwan for a long time, he asked again in a harsh tone.

"I heard!" Xu Wanwan's thoughts were interrupted and she gave a vague response before lowering her head.

As she lowered her head, she almost popped out her eyes in shock - she had become too fat! Waist thick, short legs, big butt, and arms like pillars. Her chubby hands had black dirty nails filled with dirt.

She used to be a woman entrepreneur of the new era who combined beauty with money and intelligence. How could she have ended up like this?

The key was that she had inexplicably acquired a husband and two children out of nowhere.

"In the future, you don't need to take care of the children! If you want to stay in the family quarters, behave yourself. If you want to cause trouble, go back to your village," Pei Yan said, locking his eyes on Xu Wanwan. He waited for a few seconds, not seeing her usual yelling and physically expressing her anger, he couldn't help but feel confused.

But after giving it some thought, he figured that she might still be a bit shaken-up from falling down while chasing after Xiao Zhu earlier.
